generosity at work

Well, with all the bald-faced greed and desperation that's been surrounding the beta release of the new email service offered by the hosts of this site, which I won't name for superstitious reasons, there are a couple of examples of people being nice and giving invitations away. The greatest example of this kindess can be
found here.

In fact, a very kind stranger gave me an account there last night. I plan to return the favor to people who have made requests on this site as soon as I have the capability. Now, I know I won't be getting visitors and most of my friends are probably indifferent to this new service, but if you want an invitation or have one to give, or just want to see some good old-fashioned neighborliness, check it out.

getting acquainted

I've read many blogger sites, but never realized until now that you can't post pictures along with your text. I guess I always knew this, because people generally linked to photos they had stashed on some other site. Apparently, blogger has very recently added photo-posting capability, but each photo is uploaded via instant message and gets its own post. I'm going to try that out next (probably tomorrow).

Could this get more boring? Probably! Check back and see!

Packing

In a couple of days I leave for Maryland, where I'll be spending the summer with people I've yet to meet. But first I have to get my things in order. Here's what I've thought of so far:

1. Clothes
2. Books
3. Kitchen Stuff / Food
4. Computer and related things
5. Guitar
6. Toiletries

So, as a reader of others' web journals, I know few things are as boring as mundane lists. But since I'm not anticipating much readership here we'll just let it stand for now.

forever, for now

Since it seems I won't have time in the near future to get my own site going again, this should work as a temporary fix.
